John Starck has over 35+ years of experience in the oil and gas industry. Mr Starck graduated from Colorado School of Mines with a Bachelors of Science in Petroleum Engineering in 1987. During this time OPEC had drastically increased it's production in order to gain a larger market share in the global oil market. This caused oil prices to tumble to $12 a barrel an oil and gas jobs to be scarce. Due to the low demand for Petroleum Engineers, Mr Starck started his career working as a "worm" on a drilling rig in Northern Michigan. After six months, Mr Starck found a job as a Reservoir Engineer with Pacific. During his time at Pacific, Mr Starck evaluated oil and gas properties all across the lower 48 states and found a million plus bbl field in Wyoming. After Pacific sold out to Hunt Petroleum, Mr Starck and two partners started EGL Resources. While at EGL, Mr Starck drilled completed and operated over 200 successful wells in the Permian Basin and South Eastern New Mexico. Also during this time Mr Starck also evaluated and purchased over 30,000 acres of minerals in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Wyoming, Colorado, West Virginia, North Dakota, and Arkansas. In July 2008, Mr Starck became the president of EGL Resources and stepped down in August of 2019 when the company was sold to PBEX LLC.
